We’re seeking an experienced Mobile Lead Engineer to join our Prime Team in Madrid or Porto (hybrid), where you will lead a team of skilled software engineers. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the way an entire product development domain evolves and have input into decisions that have a far broader impact on the eDreams business and its customers. All this while building a reputation and professional brand for yourself, and caring and developing a team of high-performing engineers. The role will report to the Lead Engineering Manager.

The Role’s Key Responsibilities and Tasks
As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Mobile Lead Engineer in the Prime Team you will be in charge of:
Leading the technical delivery of a critical product at eDreams.
- Working with top-notch tech stack including:
- Swift, SwiftUI, XCTests, Viper, MVVM, Fastlane, CircleCI and microframeworks for iOS.
- Kotlin, Compose, Dagger/Hilt, Espresso, JUnit, Clean Architecture and micromodules for Android.
- Java 17, Graphql, BigData (Kafka, Cassandra, Redis), Docker, Junit and Datadog for Backend.
- Collaborating with Product, Business, Architecture, Data Science to shape the technical strategy and evolution of the Prime Engagement domain with a focus on our App, define the technical strategy for your modules and ensure their optimal performance.
- Helping your team translate functional specifications into high-performance logical technical design and code and split the work into smaller tasks that add quick value to customers.
- Promoting our standards of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
Leading the team:
- Leading a high-performing cross-functional agile team of 7-10 experienced software engineers and developers.
- Taking an active role in finding and hiring the best talent available, in collaboration with our recruiters, and onboarding new joiners into our culture of high performance, collaboration and growth.
- Managing performance, setting goals and prioritising work for your team, balancing the capacity of the team.
- Establish a sense of identity, engagement and belonging in your team, and improve team dynamics – in collaboration with your dedicated agile coach.
- Act as a mentor, helping others develop their skills and professional career.

- Java, Swift and Kotlin, code base knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience with distributed, concurrent and scalable systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
- Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
- AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
- Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
- Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as “pair programmers” to complement traditional software development practices.
